Each individual component (facestock and adhesive) of these labels is compostable, the adhesive is also compatible with recycling. Label backing liners are not compostable, please re-use where appropriate.

PURE Labels compostable labels and adhesive are vegan and non-GMO. They do not contain harmful chemicals such as bisphenol (including BPA and over a dozen other derivatives), or phthalates.

PURE Labels uses high-quality leading converting equipment to manufacture cut labels. Please allow up to 1/8" variance for die-cuts.

For best results ensure a clean, dry surface at room temperature, position carefully, apply even pressure, and allow time for the adhesive to set.

Keep label sheets in their original packaging in a cool, dry area. Protect from direct sunlight.

We recommend testing in the type of environment, with expected use from start to finish to be certain the material meets all requirements and expectations before purchase.

*Clear Compostable labels have been tested with TN-660 Toner. Not compatible with LED, LaserJet, or Inkjet. Other laser printers have not been tested.

Appreciate the effort, but the labels didnt work as well as we hoped.

My sister and I run a small business and we are makers of a variety of zero waste products. We recently started to wholesale our products and our retailers were having a lot of issues with the labels. We were using the Natural compostable sugarcane labels at first, and retailers were telling us that the labels were peeling off and we noticed that too. The adhesive wasn't holding. So, we tried the White compostable ones in hopes that we didn't have to compromise sustainability for quality. Those did not work out any better. We now have the issue of the ink smearing and it's terrible. We had a huge order with over 100 products and the ink smeared on every single one. We noticed it's smearing at first, but didn't think much of it and hoped that it would dry within time. But it didn't. And because we are a small business, we are not at the level of production to be purchasing the custom labels so it has been difficult. Not only that, but we ordered the labels in bulk because the shipping costs seem to have increased.

We are still hoping we can find out a solution that doesn't make us have to compromise quality for sustainable efforts. So far, this was the only company we were able to find with these options but they haven't worked out for us.

I love this sticker paper. Prints well and has the perfect amount of stickiness for what I use it for. Just wish the company kept more product in stock so they would ship faster.

I have a client who really wanted a compostable material for their product labels. Since they have lots of different items in smaller quantities, and with some strange sizes, getting labels professionally printed would be cost prohibitive. So, I bought these sticker sheets and cut them using my Silhouette cutting machine. As for printing, I've gone through hell and back trying to make these work.

It says they're for laserjet, but I've tried every kind of laser printer at Fedex Office, Staples, and local copy shops, and the image *always* pulls up a bunch of the toner it just printed and transfers onto the next page. Fedex people say you *cannot* put glossy sticker paper into their machines, or likely any laserjet (I learned this after doing it and wasting lots of paper) and they suggested printing with inkjet. So I did that. And while soft colors do fine, any black text is smudge-able indefiniely. I have a product I printed a label for a year ago and the label still smudges today!

We "made do" with the inkjet-printed labels for a year, and I finally tried laserjet again for a recent batch because the smudging was getting on my nerves, and I ran them at a different fedex office and magically they appeared to be printing fine! I thought, "yay! it works on the machines at this place! I just needed to find the right machines!"....except, no. I had accidentally printed (and cut!) on the wrong side, wasting an entire package of 25 sheets!
It's *very* difficult to tell which side is which. The front is *just barely* a little whiter than the back. The full-sheet sticker paper at Fedex office (fully matte and not compostable) has a mark on the back side so you don't make any mistakes like I did.

In any case, after all of this drama with the labels, I finally just begged the client to go with a non-compostable label. It hurts their heart, as a sustainable farm trying to go zero waste, but they agreed. Until their production is big enough to get professional printing, we have to print and cut ourselves, and the printing needs to be good quality, which we have not been able to achieve with this paper.
